Markie Post (1950–2021), “Night Court” star

Markie Post was an actress known for roles in “Night Court,” “The Fall Guy,” and “Hearts Afire.”

Acting career

Post was best known for her work on “Night Court,” where she played public defender Christine Sullivan. Her character was brought on in the show’s third season and became a love interest for Harry Anderson’s (1952–2018) and John Larroquette’s characters. Before “Night Court,” Post had a prominent role on “The Fall Guy” and made memorable appearances on “Cheers,” “The Greatest American Hero,” and “The Love Boat.” In the years after “Night Court” ended, Post starred opposite John Ritter (1948–2003) in the sitcom “Hearts Afire.” Later TV appearances included “Scrubs,” “30 Rock,” “Santa Clarita Diet,” and a recurring role on The Kids Are Alright.” Post also had a supporting role in the movie “There’s Something About Mary,” playing Mary’s mother, and she was the voice of June Darby in “Transformers: Prime.”
