Helena Kruzicki
Clintonville - Helena M. Kruzicki, age 92, passed away on Thursday, January 14, 2021. She was born on August 18, 1928, daughter of the late Earl and Elizabeth (Rueden) Hooyman. Helena grew up on the family farm in Shiocton where she attended Liberty Bell School and Shiocton High School, graduating in 1946. Helena was united in marriage on May 30, 1952, to Nicholas Kruzicki at St. Denis Catholic Church in Shiocton. He preceded her in death on December 12, 2020. Prior to her marriage, Helena worked at Zwicker Knitting Mill with her sister Betty. Immediately following her marriage to Nick, Helena and Nick helped run the family business; The Sportsman Bar in Shiocton. Nick and Helena later bought and ran a farm together. During this time, Helena worked at the Bear Creek Post Office as a rural carrier until her retirement; a total of 27 years. She was a proud member of the Mail Handlers Union. Helena and Nick were life-long members of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bear Creek where they both served on many boards and committees. They both were also members and extremely active in the Bear Creek Lions Club. Helena enjoyed cooking, flower gardening, ceramics, and fishing with Nick. Mostly, she loved spending time with Nick and her family.
Helena is survived by her children, Nancy (Richard) Immel of Clintonville, WI and David (Doreen) Kruzicki of Shawano, WI; grandchildren: Tracy Kruzicki, Derek (Cora) Kruzicki, Jesse Kruzicki, Matthew Immel, Chelsea (Cory) Backler, Alisha Hopfensperger, Amber (Wesley) Yeomans, and Dalee Kruzicki; step-grandchildren Jessica Swiecichowski and Casey Korth; great-grandchildren: Seth, Davis, Oliver, Parker, Brenna, Link, Owen, Charli, Aria, Ally, and Renely; sister Roseann (Don) Smith; brothers-in-law Larry (Angie) Kruzicki, Myron (Carol) Kruzicki and Dick Volkman; and sisters-in-law, Audrey (Gene) Blake and Mary Lou Hooyman. Helena is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Nick; son, Dennis; granddaughter Diana Kruzicki; siblings, Herb (Agnes) Hooyman, Hildie (Vic) Fermanich, Butch Hooyman, Betty (Buzzy) Kanaman, Clara (Leander) Petit, Eugene Hooyman, and Theresa (Wally) Cuchner; and sister-in-law, Barb Volkman.
A funeral will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Bear Creek at a later date. A private family burial will be in the Shiocton-Bovina Cemetery.
