Tom has always been and will always be special to Carmie and myself. We thank him for all the good times and sharing awesome memories . Tom and I shared the same birthday ten years apart. We had lots of fun making invitations for our parties that made us look ridiculous, but good times for all. Tom was very kind and he loved his mom and family. He will be missed and remembered by so many.

We were saddened to hear of Tom’s passing. We met Tom many years ago through the West Texas Running Club. Any time we saw him at a race or elsewhere, he made it a point to acknowledge our presence with a big hug. He was a man of integrity, ingenuity, and compassion. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Tom, now you can run home to be with your parents and our savior.

I was shocked and saddened to hear as Tom was vivacious, always smiling and positive about life. It is a tragedy he departed at such a relatively young age. He will be missed and my thoughts and prayers are with his family.

Tom, We became friends before we even started school. So many memories to even put in writing. Me and you still lived in our childhood neighborhood and when you moved home after Ruth passed which broke my heart I lived across the alley from you and looked forward to catching up. When I saw you were I'll I prayed daily. I'm going to miss you brother. Your in good company now. I'm gonna miss you. Let's just say I'll see ya bro.

Omg Tom was one of those guys that I thought would out live all of us. This news breaks my heart and so senseless. Like Lee, I met Tom in 7th Grade. We was always decent and kind. I used to run into him all the time. Even though I left Lubbock in 87 every time I would go back to visit he was the one person I always seemed to run into and his looks never changed or his kindness. I know like his father he made a huge impact on Lubbock and the surrounding areas. Tom West was a class act and will always remember him. Sending love to all his family, friends and fellow classmates.

Tom always was and always will be one of the most "stand up" men I shall ever know. I regret not spending more time with him. Let him be our teacher; to love one another.
