Acting career
Tsang was a native of Shanghai, growing up there before traveling to Hong Kong and the U.S. for school, where he studied architecture. He later returned to Hong Kong and briefly worked as an architect before beginning his acting career. Tsang became a popular star of detective and king fu movies, appearing in more than 200 films in Hong Kong, China, and beyond. He made his Hollywood debut in 1998’s “The Replacement Killers,” playing crime boss Terence Wei. Tsang went on to have memorable roles in “Anna and the King,” “Rush Hour 2,” “Memoirs of a Geisha,” and the 2002 James Bond film “Die Another Day.”
