One of my favorite memories of Joan was her explaining to me why she loved the hymn, In The Garden. The garden is where she felt closest to God, as she beheld the beauty of creation. I miss her and look forward to seeing her again. In the meantime, I am sure that she clearly hears that voice whispering to her that she is His own.

To the family, I am so sorry for your loss. Joan was a giving and caring friend to all of us. We had a lot of fun whenever she came up to her cabin. She always put a smile on our faces and made us laugh a lot. I will miss you my wonderful friend.
